Working in a service oriented efficient manner, the post holder will initially be the lead Purchase Ledger contact for the company. Patent Engineer ref: SLS1829

Job Description

We are seeking an IP Engineer to help nurture, support and accelerate the preparation and filing of intellectual property, predominantly patents, associated with the company’s business operations. The primary role of the post-holder will be able to work in partnership with technical staff to prepare brief Invention Summaries and more substantial Invention Disclosures and to liaise with external Patent Attorneys to draft and file patent applications.

Responsibilities

  • To write, in association with technical colleagues, summaries and fuller disclosure of commercial inventions intended for exploitation by the company.
  • To manage proactively the patent portfolio and continue to improve the IP Processes

Lead Systems and Requirements Engineer ref: SLS1826

Job Description

Permanent Position

We are seeking an experienced Systems and Requirements Engineer to support the company’s activity to translate new technology into products based around our lab-on-a-chip devices. The role will incorporate the definition and development of both the consumable lab-on-a-chip cartridge and the associated instrumentation. Due to the multi-disciplinary nature of the company’s products the post holder will be expected to work closely with the company’s engineers and researchers in a variety of technical areas including microfluidics, mechanics, electronics, optics, software, and assay chemistry. Your specific responsibilities will include:

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Product Manager and cross department engineering teams to capture and define technical product requirements and appropriate engineering solutions
  • Design, maintain and communicate system architecture design
  • Liaise with suppliers to transfer prototype product designs to mass production
  • Identify, define, negotiate and maintain interface specifications at sub-system boundaries, both within the company and with external suppliers
  • Identify and troubleshoot technical problems arising and coordinate the technical response

We are seeking a Quality Engineer to join the company’s Quality Team.  In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Assisting in the creation and update of standard operating procedures (SOPs)

We are seeking an assay developer to join our multi-disciplinary team developing new products based on our proprietary lab-on-a-chip platform.  In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Defining assay specifications to meet given product requirements, including acceptance and tolerance criteria
  • Designing and implementing automated assay protocols and workflows on the lab-on-a-chip devices
  • Analysing performance data and tailoring assay design and conditions for optimal on device performance
  • Coordinating and conducting quality testing including verification and benchmarking against conventional gold standard techniques
  • Working closely with the hardware and software engineering teams to develop, test and troubleshoot the system design.
  • Complying with the company’s Quality Management Systems and collaborating with Quality team to ensure compliance with regulatory standards
  • Communicating progress and sharing best practice throughout the company
